College of Business Administration

Spring 2005
Description: This new
multidisciplinary graduate certificate program on
telecommunications and entrepreneurship will provide junior
professionals and new hires in electrical engineering,
computer science, physics, and professional military personnel
in these and related areas with the opportunity to learn the
recent advances and state-of-the-art development in the area
of telecommunication's technology. It will also enhance
students' understanding of the entrepreneur and business
aspects of this technology.
This certificate program includes
capstone project, in which students will be required to participate in the business plan
competition organized by the College of Business.
The credits earned in this
certificate program could be used to partially satisfy
graduation requirements in an advanced MS Degree or an
MBA.
Eligibility:
To be accepted into the program you must possess a
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Science, Physics, or equivalent.

Certificate Requirements: Minimum 15 credit hours.
Students will be required to take a minimum of two courses in
the Telecommunications area (EE and ICS courses), one course
in the management and Business (MGT and Bus) area, and a
required capstone project at the end of the program. In
addition, the student will be free to select one other course
in either the telecommunications or management areas to
fulfill the minimum requirement of 15 credit hours.
About Capstone Project: The capstone project is expected to be an
engineering project that may involve a team of two to three
students working together to achieve a new engineering design
(possible proposed by industry) and also address the
business/marketing aspects of the technology being developed.
