HCAC Laboratory Facilities
STUDENT
& FACULTY BENEFITS
With grants from NSF and Raytheon, HCAC is presently assembling a premier antenna range laboratory, a microwave network analysis laboratory, and a wireless communications test bed. The indoor antenna range laboratory will provide the capability to make angle scan and frequency scan measurements of antennas patterns for radar cross section (RCS) and other radar related measurements. The microwave network analysis laboratory will serve as the work horse of testing impedance and matching characteristics of new antenna designs, testing and characterization of RF components and devices, and development of materials characterization. The wireless test bed will provide key lab facilities for testing, verifying and optimizing research in DSP, smart antennas, MIMO systems, and iterative decoding techniques.
HCAC lab facilities are intended to serve the research needs of participating faculty, to provide test and measurement capabilities to industry, to provide avenues for undergraduate students to participate in faculty research and industry-sponsored research activities in programs such as the engineering clinic program.
